I am researching the Heaton Family after Bill and Murphy moved to Blount County. They both married, had a farm and are buried here. Bill at Nelson Chapel and Murphy at Six-Mile Cemetery. I need to find a document that shows they were brothers. Some sort of proof for their familial ties. They had an aunt, Theodocia "Dosha" Roberts, that also lived in Blount County but she had no children other than Sarah Jane whom she adopted with her husband William Roberts. Maybe a will? An obituary? A family bible? A deed? Anything that shows Bill and Murphy were brothers. I have applied to First Families of Tennessee for John Heaton who was their grandfather but am stuck on William Heaton and his father Joseph. I need proof to show the link between William and Joseph. I can do that by proving Murphy was his brother. Any help would be appreciated. :-)
