The Society will make a limited number of copies from the Blount County Public Library's (genealogy) Family Files or the Parham Files. We have been sorting and indexing the files and we are almost caught up to the "L" surname files. There is more information in this Forum under the Alphabetic Surnames section. The current cost (as of March 2019) is $1 for the first page and 50 cents for each additional page. We will scan and email up to 12 pages. If you are requesting more than 12 pages or do not know the number of pages, please send an email to bcghs@yahoo so we can assess the file and email you a quote. When the copies have been made, we will notify you of the payment due. Thank you for visiting the BCGHS website.
Added Comment to the information about copying Family Files and Parham Files:
We recently had someone request a copy of the entire index for the family files. This listing is not available for copying. After many days, hours and years devoted to this indexing project has copyright protection. The index may soon be available for purchase after publication. The information given ABOVE is for copying an individual Family File or Parham File.
Policy has changed regarding the Family Files Index and the procedure to make copies from these files. The 25 page index is now finished. The plan is to have a copy of the index in the Blount County library reference department. All of the names will be listed on the forum. Copies from some of these files can be ordered with a "document request form" on the BCGHStn.org website. The size of each file will also need to be considered when copying documents.
