Although the Society cannot do genealogical research for individuals (neither for members nor for non-members), volunteers will spend UP TO 30 minutes checking INDEXED SOURCES for 1 (one) surname. There is a minimum fee of $10.00 for each inquiry. This fee will provide up to 10 photocopies. You MUST INCLUDE a stamped, self-addressed envelope for the materials to be returned to you. Research requests cannot be handled by email; you must submit your clearly stated request along with payment.

The search is now for ONE HOUR at a cost of $20 including 10 copies. You will be notified if more copies are available with the additional cost. The SEARCH form is on this BCGHS website that can be filled out online or printed and mailed to us. More information will be given in the Spring 2018 issue of The Blount Journal. A SEARCH can be made for ONE SPECIFIC PERSON or ONE SURNAME or ONE ORGANIZATION (church, school, business, etc.). Requests must have a Blount County connection. Email us if you have any questions.

As of February 13, 2018, the society board is working on a new policy and the one written above has not been approved. In the meantime, send your request to us by email or USPS and the request will be evaluated for processing. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY THROUGH THE WEBSITE WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. Thank you.
